懷托莫螢火蟲洞穴是紐西蘭最著名的自然奇觀之一，

經過水流的沖刷，懷托莫洞穴中的石灰岩漸漸融化在河中，漸漸積累，

這些微小的化學反應，經過三千萬年的演變形成了我們現在看到的溶洞。
